  • Walk right outside with your morning coffee to this inviting patio.

  • New garage and workshop separate the garden from the alley, creating new spaces for dining and planting.

  • We moved this fence and gate so the kitchen would open onto the garden. Blue hydrangeas are a favorite of this client.

  • The before shot! Note fence in old location and long, long wall.

  • Tiered fountain, hydrangeas, and new planter wall incorporate the garage to the rear.

  • Evergreen Chindo virburnum loving this corner, fish in bottom of fountain.

  • Oakleaf hydrangea in bloom, with variegated Daphne on right

This double lot in Old Town, Alexandria, became a true oasis after some creative collaboration between the architect, clients, and Cheryl Corson Design. A new garage/workshop was built along the back of the site, and the long brick wall became a frame for distinct garden rooms. A tiered fountain brings the calming sound of water into the new space.
